Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Summons for Breach of Protection Order, the applicant has to approach the JUIDICIAL department in Ghana Contact link
2. Application Form no.10 can be downloaded from the link
3. The application has been considered by the court and the following order has been made.
4. Information related to the JUIDICIAL commission and licensing authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts “section of this page.
5. Applicant will have to submit application either in Form no.10.
6. The applicant should make sure are eligible for applying for Protection order by reading through the eligibility criteria that has been listed out under the “Eligibility “of this page.
7. Please make sure that the applicant has to all the documents that are the listed down the '’Required Documents of this page.
8. Application form can be obtained from the appropriate JUIDICIAL office that should be completed and submitted to the respective office.
9. Summons for Breach of Protection orders are free of charge.
10. Applicant has to sign an affidavit about what your abuser has done to the applicant. An affidavit is a form that you swear is true and sign in front of a notary or a Judge.
11. If the court finds applicant is in danger of harm, applicant will first get a Temporary Order of Protection.

Need for the Document

•  A breach of protection order, or of an interim protection order, by the respondent shall be an offence under this Act and shall be punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine which may extend to twenty thousand rupees, or with both.
