ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. The application form for Rights and Voice initiative fund is available in the RAVI coordinator in Ghana. link
  2. Any organization that wishes to apply should wait for a call for expression of interest (EOI) from the printing News Media and National media.
  3. Make sure that his/her have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  4. Please refer to the fees details in the “Fees” section of this page.
  5. Fill the form up to the end. The sooner you get your RAVI application filled in and submitted, the more aid you are likely to qualify for. Even if you do not think you will get any grant money, it is always smart to fill out the Form.
  6. Attach the required documents, Get everything ready that applicant need to attach on his/her application form such as your registration certificate codes, applicant will also need his/her an agreement of understanding from your intermediary organization.
  7. Attach a recommendation from the district security officer and community development office from your home district.
  8. Submit your application for screening and shortlisting at the RAVI Secretariat.
  9. After screening and assessment of the application for successful applicant organization will be asked to re-submit another more detailed proposal elaborating in depth how the organization is going to apply the funds, for further assessment and selection by the by RAVI Sub grant Committee.
  10. A Successful short listed applicant will be approved by the RAVI Grant Sub-Committee. The Grant funds will be approved based on the recommendation of Grant Sub-Committee.
  11. The names, address and location of successful applicant shall be published in the print media and on the RAVI website. RAVI Secretariat and selected guarantee shall make an agreement on the use of funds and period of funding.
  12. Funds will be disbursed to grantee within the week of signing the agreement. Funds shall be disbursed in accordance shall be disbursed in accordance with tranches agreed between grantees and RAVI secretariat.
  13. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is taken 6 months.

EligibilityEdit

  • In order to be eligible to apply for a grant from this fund for the first call the Civil Society organization (CSO) must fulfill the following conditions.


For intermediaries:

  • Be a Legally registered not for Profit Ghana Community service organization (CSO)or affiliated to/in partnership with a legally register non for profit organization in Ghanaian (CSO).
  • Be working at regional or National level within Ghana.


For CSOs to be Eligible:

  • Be a legally registered not for profit organization Ghanaian CSO, or affiliated to/in partnership with a legally register non for profit organization in Ghanaian (CSO). Be working at regional or National level within Ghana.(CBO s/L NGOs working at the district and community levels will be eligible for RAVI funds under a different funding call through intermediaries organizations.

  • Fees for this procedure has to be paid as per as authority request.



ValidityEdit

  • The fund will be available for over five year’s period with an annual call for express of interest from civil society organization.

InstructionsEdit

  • This fund is run by a consortium of four partner organization led by Action Aid Ghana, Participatory Development Association (PDA) and Centre for democratic development (CDD) and FRR.
  • ONLY CBO's and CSOs working at district and community levels are allowed to apply for this Grant through their intermediaries.
  • You should apply in person.
  • International organization is not eligible for this fund unless they are in partnership with CSOs through whom the funding will be channeled.
  • All organizations receiving funding under Ghana advocacy and Research program (G-RAP) are not Eligible for this funding.
  • All Ghana Government Agencies and are not eligible unless they channel the funding through CSOs.
  • The grant is for the direct citizen of Ghana and to support citizen -government engagement.
  • Direct Grant to CSOs depends on size, nature and capacity of CBOs and the intermediary they will work with.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • The purpose of RAVI is enhanced citizen engagement in Ghana aiming at the respect, protection and fulfilment and social rights. It is designed to :
  • Strengthen the ability of vulnerable groups to exercise voice and demand their rights ( e.g. women, children, disabled , minorities)
  • Increase citizen’s ability to realize rights associated with their livelihoods (e.g. shelter, food, land, water and labour)
  • Support citizens demands for accessible, affordable , quality social services (e.g. education, health, and social welfare)
  • Promote and protect civil and political rights through the development of innovative strategies (e.g. access to information, participatory governance, redress mechanisms, transparent budgeting).

  • Be a legally registered not-for-profit Ghanaian civil society organization, or affiliated to or in partnership with a legally registered not-for-profit Ghanaian civil society organization.
