Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Private Motor Omnibus Operators License (PMO) in Ghana, the applicant should contact the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority Head Office.

3. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
4. Read carefully through the application form as there contain different section.
5. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. Submit the completed form in two copies along with the supporting documents to the DVLA regional and district office or the head office.
8. After the notified period applicant gets certificate as per applicable delivery norms.
9. The processing time for this procedure is 5 days.

Eligibility

• All person with private motor vehicle and wishes to carry passengers in an omnibus without charge in Uganda is eligible for this Licence.

Fees

License fees

• 8 to 19 passengers - 300,000 GHS,
• 20 to 39 passengers - 500,000 GHS,
• 40 and above - 1,500,000 GHS,
• Advance Income Tax of 20,000 GHS per seat except the driver.

Validity

• This license validity is for 1 year.

• Full Vehicle Details

• Information if the applicant has ever acquired a Licence and state the nature of the Licence, date issued and the Licence number.
