Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Petroleum Installations license in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the ADA East District Assembly link
2. Obtain the application form from the AEDA office.
3. Read through the application form carefully as it contains different section.
4. Submit the completed forms in duplicate (2 copies) along with the supporting documents at the AEDA office for the verification and processing.
5. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. Applicant will be issued with the prescribed fee invoice, visit any ECOBANK branch near the applicant with the invoice and make the payment.
8. The AEDA will dispatch an inspector to the proposed site to conduct an environmental assessment impact study.
9. A copy of the report finding will be given to the applicant and if any modification or upgrading is required, Corrective Action and Preventive Action Report (CAPA) report will be issued and the applicant will be required rectify the problem.
10. Upon successful implementation of the CAPA, a follow-up inspection may be conducted by the inspection team to ascertain the effectiveness of the implementation (where applicable).
11. If the authorized official is satisfied that all the conditions are meet as required for the application, the applicant will be notified of the outcome and issued with the licences, upon payment of all required fees.
12. The processing time for this procedure takes 30 days.

• NOC from the concerned municipal corporation
• Duly filled application form
• MoA and AoA of companies, if applicable
• Latest ITR copy
• Photograph of an authorized person

• Affidavit regarding lack of criminal records in the applicant’s name
• Affidavit declaring the applicants has no pending in their name

Need for the Document

• To run a business where petrol is stored for dispensing directly into the fuel tank of an internal combustion engine or where large amounts of petrol are stored for private use applicant need a license from the applicant’s local petroleum licensing authority.
