Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for Lease (state land) License or permit in person, the applicant has to approach the Ghana Land Commission office. contact link
  2. Visit the office and obtain an application form for Land Lease from the relevant department.
  3. Make sure that you have all the required documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  4. Please refer to the fees details “Fees” section of this page.
  5. Complete the application form as required with necessary information and attest with your signature.
  6. Then, attach the documents required with the completed form and proceed to submit it to the Managing Director at the Office for further verification and application processing.
  7. Also pay the required fees for the application process at the office as directed by the officials.
  8. After submission, the application and accompanying documents are subsequently reviewed and verified.
  9. On completion of all the processes, the applicant will be contacted through phone or email to collect the lease document.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • Any shipping company/agent in Ghana, who wishes to obtain a certain area of land in lease inside the Ghana, must register it with the Authority.

  • The lands commission is established by article 238 of the 1992 constitution Act, 2008 (Act 767) as a body corporate with perpetual succession, a common seal and sue and may be sued in the corporate name.
