Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Land and Property Permit in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Land Commission office. Contact link
2. Then, the applicant must obtain the application form from land commission office.
3. Applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
4. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the applicant form while submitting it at the office.
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. A completed application form submits to the land commission office.
8. If application is verified, the notification will be sent to the applicant by the Land Commission Office.
9. Application process at registrar office concludes on same day (If there was any inevitable situation it may happen on the next working day).

Apply online:

1. Go to the online website. Link for site online link
2. In the given new window, click “login/register” button under “Login/Register to Avail following Facilities” on the left part of the screen.
3. User will reach login page. Please enter “User Name”, “Password” and “Captcha” as appropriate and click “Login” button.
   • If the applicants are a new user, then user please use the “Don’t have account, register…..” option to reach registration page. Complete the page prompts as appropriate and click “Register” button to register and then login.
4. Once login, in the given page click “Correction in personal details” button.
5. A new page prompts user to choose either “Self” or “Family” as per requirement. Please choose as per requirement and click “Next” button.
6. User shall also select the language of choice.
7. In the new page please enter the Part number and Serial number at the prompted space. Make entries which require changes or correction. Fill the required details correctly.
8. Upload relevant documents as applicable. Please enter email ID, Phone number and other details as applicable.
9. Enter the captcha at the prompted space and click “Submit” button to apply online.
10. A system generated reference id will be displayed as acknowledgement.
11. Save this id safe for the future reference to check the status.
12. This application will be processed by the department.
13. The internal process will be initiated to verify the details.
14. Applicant gets notification about the land permit on the different stages of process.

Eligibility

• Those who has land in their name.
• Those who are legal heirs of the deceased land owner.
• Authorized signatory / power of attorney.

Fees

• Application Processing Fees is 84.00 + 30% of 66 per gross floor area of 5,000 sq. ft. 84.00 + 30% of 66 per gross floor area of 5,000 sq.

Validity

• This registration is valid till the land is sold to someone.

Instructions

• In order to register land/property, one has to follow the provisions under The Registration Act, 1908, Indian Stamp Act, 1899 and amendments made therein from time to time.
• The registration can take place at the Sub-Registration Office within which the property is located or in the District Sub-Registrar Office of the District where the property is located.
