Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for Hunting permit or license the applicant must submit an application to the Ministry of the Interior, Ghana. contact link
  2. The applicant can collect the application Form from the office of the Ministry of the Interior.
  3. Fill in all the necessary details in the application and submit with supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section, with corresponding fees. Fees listed in the “Fees” section of this page.
  4. On receipt of the Application the issuing authority will conduct an inquiry, and grant or reject the application.
  5. If an application is rejected, the license fee shall be refunded back to the applicant.
  6. On scrutinizing the application if the issuing officer is satisfied he shall grant the license to the applicant.
  7. The processing time for this procedure takes 6 days.

EligibilityEdit

  • Any person who has held a Game License for a period of 12 months is eligible for a Hunting License.
  • All Foreigners and Resident of Ghana with a hunting pass or license are Eligible.
  • Foreigner tourist must have a tourist visa.
  • Persons who wish to engage in activities of hunting game birds are required to have a Game License (GL) issued by the Licensing Officer. The GL authorizes the hunting of Game birds in such areas, for such periods, and subject to such conditions as may be prescribed by the Minister responsible for wildlife.

ValidityEdit

  • A license granted shall be valid for the period specified, and not exceeding one year.
