Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. The application form for Government Accountability Improves Trust Fund (GAIT II) forms is available in the chief executive officer of Government accountability improves Trust fund office or social welfare department. Contact link
2. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
3. Applicant has to enter all information the application form.
4. Applicant must make sure to carry both photocopies and originals of all documents are necessary for completing this procedure.
5. Applicant must make sure to carry all necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page. (Both photocopies and originals)
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. The first step is to organize an application letter attaches a civic union business plan and in case of a school applying for this Grant, the school communities must have an operation school performance improvement plan (SPIP) in place before requesting for this Grant.
8. The next step is to attach on the application a well written sound business plan. This plan must be matching with the contribution that you are seeking from GAIT 11, it should also be clear that to apply for the GAIT II Phase you MUST have successfully implemented GAIT I (Government Accountability Improves Trust)Phase 1.
9. Submit your application letter and Civic union business plan to the District Zonal Committee for processing this will take a few weeks to shortlist the applications. That Civic union organization that is selected will be informed through their program coordinator.
10. The approval will be done and funds will be disbursed to civic organizations that are successful, a selected District technical assistant (DTA's)will closely follow up the use of the grant in the District and report on the progress of income generating activities to the Zone offices in the District.
11. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is 6 weeks.

Eligibility

• Small Citizen groups who are engaged in Income generating activities especially civic unions and sub-civic Unions in operation districts.
• All pre-selected school communities in operational districts are eligible.
