Apply In-Person:
- Application form for Emergency Travel Certificate in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Ghana ministry of foreign affairs. contact link
- Applicant has to enter all information the application form.
- Applicant must make sure to carry both photocopies and originals of all documents are necessary for completing this procedure.
- Applicant must make sure to carry all necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page. (Both photocopies and originals)
- Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
- Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the applicant from while submitting it at the office.
- A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
- If all above mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the application form will be viewed by concerned authorities and the applicant will be notified regarding their certificate.
- Generally , the processing time for this procedure is 5 working days (Monday – Friday )

- Letter requesting for the emergency travel document
- Child’s birth certificate together with copies of the parents’ passports.
- Proof of nationality: (any one of the following)
- copy of the bio-data page of expired passport
- Birth certificate
- Voters ID card
- Two (2) passport photographs
- Police report or a declaration made at the Embassy (If passport is missing/damaged);
- An air ticket or proof of flight booking/reservation
- Application fees (card payment, cash, bank transfer)
- Any other documents that may be requested by the embassy.

- All Ghanaian citizens who had travel abroad and had their passport lost/stolen/damage or don’t have a valid Ghanaian passport.
FeesEdit
- A fee for this procedure is GHS 65.00.
ValidityEdit
- Travel certificate is valid for one (1) month and is for a single journey to Ghana.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- Emergency travel document (ETC) is issued only to a person who is not in possession of Ghana passport and need to travel to Ghana under an emergency situation.
- Travel certificates (TCs) are issued to Ghanaians who wish to urgently return to Ghana but are not in possession of a valid passport or had their passport lost/stolen/damage.
