Apply In-Person

1. To Apply for Easy Pass Certificate for Construction Materials in Ghana, the applicant has to approach Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) Office link
2. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
3. Applicant should read carefully in the application form, after all details must be filled in the application form.
4. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. Applicant must Request for Certificate:
   • Applicant must obtain the application form for Easy Pass Certificate.
   • The applicant should give the list of goods intended for export, position, importer / exporter details (name, address, invoice,)
   • Information related to the Easy Pass Certificate authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts “section of this page.
   • Applicant must attach all relevant documents when you submitted the application form.
   • Applicant should give to Information related to local and provisional date of availability of goods to carry out their physical inspection before shipment. (Filling up of the Request For Certificate (RFC) Form)
7. Documentary review / Testing:
   • Bureau VERITAS reviews all information provided and checks their adequacy against the Ghanaian standards. Laboratory testing / analysis are conducted on samples if necessary.
8. Inspection (Bureau VERITAS checks that):
   • Products comply with applicable standards
   • Goods presented are those identified during the documentary review
   • Goods match their description in the import / export documents
   • If necessary, Bureau VERITAS inspectors may take samples for additional assessment.
9. Easy PASS Certificate:
   • Bureau VERITAS checks the inspection report against the provided documents. Upon satisfactory results, a secured Easy PASS Certificate is issued, else, a Non-Conformity Report is produced. Exporters are recommended not to ship their goods prior issuance of the required Certificate.
10. Frequent and reliable exporters to Ghana may benefit from registration and licensing speeding up the verification process applied on their shipments
11. Generally, the processing time for this procedure takes approximately 1 to 5 working days.

• The Ghana Standards Authority has appointed Bureau VERITAS to implement the Ghana Easy PASS Programme which becomes mandatory from January 1st, 2019.
• Bureau VERITAS verifies, in the region of export and prior to shipment, the conformity of the goods to Ghanaian and/or international standards and issues the Certificate of Conformity that is required for Customs clearance of the goods in Ghana.

• Easy PASS programme ensures the fast track clearance of all goods on arrival in Ghana and ensures the protection of the consumer and the environment as well preventing the importation of unsafe, sub-standard and /or counterfeit goods.

Information which might help

• The governing board of the Ghana Standards Authority, in June 2019 approved the appointment of INTERTEK as part of its service providers for the implementation of the Ghana Easy Pass programme in Ghana effective July 2019.
• This brings to two, the number of service providers under the Easy Pass. The first company appointed by the GSA is Bureau VERITAS. By this appointment, Bureau VERITAS and intertek become the only officially approved service providers in partnership with the Ghana Standards Authority for the purposes of undertaking verification of conformity of products under Easy Pass programme.
