Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. The application form for African Women Development Fund (AWDF) forms is available in the non-Profit Organization secretariat. contact link
2. Applicant should obtain the application form from respective office or Write a project proposal and submit it to the AWDF secretariat in Ghana, using a grant Application guidelines, the application should be written in English, French or Portuguese and sent by Mail, fax or post. Whereas AWDF accepts application by Email, fax or post a hard Copy should still be sent. AWDF requires basic and specific information about the organization applying for the grant such as its composition and its purpose.
3. Applicant has to enter all information the application form.
4. Applicant must make sure to carry both photocopies and originals of all documents are necessary for completing this procedure.
5. Applicant must make sure to carry all necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page. (Both photocopies and originals)
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. After submitting your proposal the program committee will sit and screen the proposal to make sure that they meet the ADWF requirements and standards.
8. After screening the project proposal the Program committee will sit again and approval the project proposal, organizations whose project proposal are approved will be requested to sign a grant agreement, after which a grant agreement is disbursed.
9. The program officers of AWDF will be selected to do project monitoring for the all the approved organizations through site visits, organizations are required to submit quarterly reports through the monitoring is done.
10. Generally, the processing time for this procedure 6-8 weeks.

Eligibility

• Organisation must be women-led.
• To be Eligible the Organization can be local, national and sub regional or regional African women's organization from any part of Africa.
• Local women organization should send their names of two referees and one of whom should be a member of a woman organization that operates on a regional basis.

Fees

• A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per as authority request.

Validity

• The fund will serve the needs of African woman on a permanent basis as endowment foundation.
