ProcedureEdit

  1. Apply to obtain a National Guard Driver License at any CSC location.
  2. Applicants must submit documents that shows their identity, residential address, full social security number, U.S. citizenship or proof of lawful presence in the United States and other required documents.
  3. Pass the vision exam.


Vision Exam

Your eyes will be tested by means of a mechanical device. The minimum acceptable vision is 20/60 in one eye, with or without corrective lenses, and a field of vision of, at least, 140 degrees. Upon failure of the field vision exam the applicant will be required to have a DS-274 completed by a licensed practitioner.

  • Applicants must submit documents that shows their identity, residential address, full social security number, and U.S. citizenship or proof of lawful presence in the United States. Checklist of accepted documents
  • Submit the original Certificate of Eligibility (DS-318) obtained from the local National Guard Commanding Officer (this form is also due upon every renewal of a National Guard Driver's License)
  • All documents must be in English, any documents written in a foreign language must be translated into English.

EligibilityEdit

To apply, you must be a member of the Georgia National Guard or Reserve Forces in good standing and completed at least 1 year of satisfactory service.


Notes:

  • Activation for training purposes does not qualify an individual for a Georgia veteran's driver's license.
  • To obtain any other class license, the applicant must successfully complete examinations for the class of driver's license desired.
  • A veteran's driver's license can be obtained after 20 years of service with the National Guard. A certification obtained from the Adjutant General of the State of Georgia is also required when a National Guard applies for a Veteran's Driver's License.
