Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Obtain Import Permit for Dried Blood and Blood albumen, the applicant must go to the Biosecurity of Authority office in Fiji.Contact Link
2. The importer/shipper (applicant) must download the application from the Fiji’s BAF official website. Application Form
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The application form should be filled with necessary details, and along with the required documents, it should be submitted to the official email ID of the Biosecurity Authority office. [[email protected] Email ID]
5. If the products are kept in Transit before reaching the destination country, then the application form for Animal Products in Transit must also be attached. Application Form
6. The prescribed fee payment must be made and the payment receipt must be attached along with the application form.
7. After submitting the application, the Biosecurity officer will verify the details given in the application form.
8. After complete verification, the import permit for Dried Blood and Blood albumen will be issued to the applicant.
9. The complete fee details to get the import permit for the animal products are given in the “Fees” section of this page.
10. The BAF takes a minimum of 3 days to process the animal product import permit.
    

NOTE: Dried Blood and blood albumen should be imported only from New Zealand and Australia.

Eligibility

The owner/agent of the products must apply for the import permit to import animal products into Fiji.

Fees

• Sample Permit (spices, polished rice, animal products, etc,) - per permit - $74.75
• Permit for the multiple importation of animal/animal products (within 6 months of issue) - $482.12
  

Validity

The validity duration will be mentioned in the import permit issued to the applicant.

Instructions

• Unsterilized carcasses must be imported only from New Zealand and Australia.
• Pig carcasses should not be imported from New Zealand.
• Frozen poultry and poultry products must be imported from the USA under conditions stipulated by BAF.
• Cooked meat and edible animal products contained in hermetically sealed cans shall not be imported.
• Hides and Skins may be imported only from New Zealand or Australia.
• Fish meal may be imported only from Australia or New Zealand. (Other countries conditions applied by BAF)
• Pork casings may be imported from Australia and New Zealand.
