Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To appeal cases in the Land Transport Authority appeals tribunal, the appealing parties/applicants must go to the Tribunal Office located in the Fiji LTA. Contacts Link.
2. The applicant(s) must file the cases within 14 days from the date pf decision.
3. The applicant who is filing the case must pay the application fee at the time of lodgement, which is $29.86.
4. After paying the fee, the applicant should fix a time and place for the hearing.
5. Then the notice of the case will be sent by the Tribunal Secretary within 28 days after the date on which the notice of appeal is lodged.
6. The notice will be sent to Appellant and any other interested party with the time and place of hearing.
7. The Authority in the Tribunal office must ensure that a Certified Copy Record is filed with the Tribunal within 21 days of the Notice of Appeal that is served.
8. If more time is required by the Authority, proper application must be made to the Tribunal at the time the matter is called before the Tribunal.
9. The Tribunal may give further directions and or set a date for the Hearing of the Appeal.
10. Once a decision has been made by the Tribunal, a copy of the ruling shall be given to the parties either on the date of ruling or can be obtained from the Tribunal Secretary.
11. If ruling is given verbally then parties can seal an order by filing with Tribunal and serving same to other parties.
12. The processing timing will be intimated while lodging the case in the Tribunal Office.

Required Documents

• The Notice of Appeal must at least have the following:
  • Name of the Appellant;
  • Residential address, phone, fax and email address
  • LTA file number quoted in the decision letter.
  • List of parties affected (Interested parties)
• The Notice of Appeal should at least contain the following:
  • The type of permit you had applied for (Taxi, Minibus, Carrier, RRL etc);
  • The date of application;
  • The decision of the Authority;
  • The Grounds of Appeal

• Any individual who is above 18 years of age can file cases in the Tribunal office of the Fiji LTA office.

Fees

• The lodgement fee - $29.86.

Validity

• The case is valid until it is resolved by the Tribunal Secretary.
