Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Transmission of Brand by Death, the applicant must go to the Registrar of Companies office in Fiji. Contacts
2. The applicant must obtain the Form E “APPLICATION FOR TRANSMISSION OF BRAND BY DEATH” from the authorities in the Registrar of Companies office.
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The application form should be filled with necessary details, and along with the required documents, it should be submitted to the Registrar of Brands official in the Fiji’s Registrar of Companies office.
5. The application fee of $2 must be paid and the receipt must be attached with the application form.
6. Then, the registrar will verify the application form.
7. After the verification, the brand name will be transferred in the name of the “declarant” mentioned in the application form.
8. After transferring the brand name, the transfer certificate will be issued to “declarant” by the Registrar of Brands in the Registrar of Companies office.
9. The declarant will also receive the “registration certificate” in their name.
10. The processing time will be intimated to the applicant while applying.

Eligibility

The declarant/personal representative of the deceased person (dead brand owner) is eligible to apply for the transmission of the brand by death application.

Fees

Application Fee - $ 2.00

Validity

The validity will be mentioned in both the “transfer certificate” and “registration certificate” issued to the declarant/applicant.

Need for the Document

If the brand owner dies, their representative can take over the brand by registering the details of the brand with the Fiji Registrar of Companies according to the Laws of Brands Acts and Legislation.
