Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Extension of Certificate of Survey, the applicant must visit the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF). Contact Link
2. The application form must be obtained from the authorities in the MSAF office, or else it can be downloaded from the website. Application Form
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The application form should be filled with necessary details, and along with the required documents it should be submitted to the Chief Executive Officer of MSAF Fiji.
5. The CEO will verify the application, and the survey extension period mentioned in the application will be approved.
6. The fee details for the survey of the ship will be intimated to the applicant while applying.
7. The processing time for this procedure will be intimated by the authorities in the MSAF office.

Eligibility

The owner of the Ship is eligible to apply for the Extension of Survey Certificate.

Fees

• The fee details for the survey of the ship will be intimated to the applicant while applying.
• For overtime working, delays beyond control reasons, the applicant must pay extra charges.
  

Validity

The validity of the extension period will be clearly mentioned in the extension survey certificate issued to the applicant.

Need for the Document

If there is any delay in the survey beyond the validity time, the ship’s owner must get the extension survey certificate from the CEO of Fiji’s MSAF to extend the survey.
