Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To obtain a Coffee Roasters License in Ethiopia the person should approach Ethiopian coffee and Tea authority contact link or the applicant should contact Ministry of agriculture location link
2. There you will be issued with application for Roaster licence from the authority.
3. Applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
4. Applicant must make sure to carry documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
5. Submit the completed application form and pay the required application fee of and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
6. This is followed by an inspection of coffee roasters by the Board field Officers
7. The Board field officers will inspect the application make recommendations on the application and forward their report forwarded to Board’s Headquarters for the ultimate Board approval.
8. Upon a successful approval, the Applicant is notified by E-mail or SMS.
9. Once the license processing is done the coffee nursery License is issued within 90 days to the applicant by the Managing Director of coffee and tea authority.

• Identification Cards/ Passport and PIN Number of the applicant
• A certified copy of certificate of incorporation/registration;
• A certified copy of memorandum and articles of association/ constitution
• Copy of title deed or certificate of leasehold as proof of ownership land or proprietorship and a current certificate of search or other supporting documents.
• Names and address of Directors.
• Proof of Reliable source of clean water
• Any other requirements that may be prescribed by the Authority from time to time Nursery Certificate in Ethiopia

Eligibility

• Any cooperative society, person, group or company who conduct business for roasting coffee in local scale or for export can apply for a Coffee roasters license.

Fees

• Fees to be paid as per the advice of the authority officer.

Validity

• The license is valid for the period of one year.

Need for the Document

• A coffee roasters license authorizes the holder to conduct the business of roasting coffee for local sale or for export
• No person can roast in coffee unless he is the holder of a current license issued in respect thereof by the Board after consultation with the Director.
