Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Obtain Import Permit or License for Sanitary Items, the applicant has to approach Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority location link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the respective officer.
3. The applicant has to fill in all necessary details in the application form (Incomplete application are not accepted)
4. Make sure the applicant has all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form.
6. Submit the application form to the respective officer.
7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as per the authority request.
8. After payment was is done, the authority will issue the hardcopy of license within the stipulated period of time.

Note:

• To import Sanitary items the applicant needs to obtain pre- import permit, because cosmetics was comes under the restricted goods.
• The applicant has to approach Food, Medicine and Health Care Administration and Control Authority (FMHACA) to obtain the pre- import permit for sanitary items link

• A contractual agreement of office rent or office building plan
• A document evidencing the capital allocated for the commercial activity
