Apply In-Person:

  1. To obtain a Flight Radio Telephony Operator License the applicant gas to approach civil aviation authority in Ethiopia contact link
  2. Application form will provide by the authority officer.
  3. Applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
  4. Applicant must make sure to carry documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
  5. If the receiving officers is satisfied that all the requirements have been met for the issue of a licence and the prescribed application form has been completed and presented in the Personnel Licensing (PEL) Office, the applicant will be advised to pay the prescribed application fees, after which the licence will be issued.
  6. You are also to proceed to pay the prescribed application fees and submit the payment receipt to together with the application documents
  7. A processing time of 7 days is needed to complete the processing of the Flight Radio Telephony Operator License application, after which you will be contacted through a phone call to collect your renewed license at the ECAA’s Personnel Licensing offices.
  8. The applicant required to carry your identification documents when collecting your new license.

  • Two (2) current passport size photographs (full face) whose size should be 2cm by 2.5cm
  • Records substantiating the experience shown on the application Form in form of a logbook

EligibilityEdit

  • The applicant should be at least seventeen (17) years of age;
  • Have the ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language.
  • Have undergone the relevant training and passed the written knowledge test for a radio telephony operator license the results of which are valid for twenty-four months (2 years) after passing the examination.
  • Demonstrate a level of knowledge appropriate to the privileges granted to a holder of a flight radiotelephone operator license in an oral examination done by the examiners.

  • Obtain Application form from PEL Offices and complete the prescribed application form.
  • Submit all the required documents.
  • Pay the applicable fees and submit the payment receipt.
