Procedure

Apply In person

1. To Obtain Tourism License in person, the applicant has to approach the U.S. Embassy in Egypt. Contact link
2. Also refer to the addresses mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this procedure.
3. Then, the applicant must obtain the application form from U.S. Embassy office.
4. Applicant should read carefully in the application form, after all the details must be filled in the application form.
5. Documents that are needed for this procedure are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
7. Submit the completed forms along with the supporting documents at the respective office for verification and processing.
8. This application will be processed and the information will be verified by the U.S. Embassy office.
9. If the verification is successful, the notification will be sent to the applicant.
10. After getting the notification from the concerned authorities, the applicant can visit the office to collect their license.
11. If there is no information regarding the application, then the applicant can visit the office to know the status of the application.
12. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is 1 months.

Eligibility

• Any registered organization in Egypt, that intends to carry out tourism business, can apply.

Fees

• A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the authority’s request.

Validity

• The license shall be renewed annually, unless, revoked, cancelled, or suspended by the Authority.
• Holders of the license are required to renew their license at least 30 days before the expiration of the current license.

• Name of Company/Person to be licensed (The Company’s or person’s name should be stated in full.
• Contact Details
• Income Tax Personal Identification Number (PIN).
• Short description of the applicant licensable activity or service

• Name and address of the bank or financial institution where the business account is maintained
• Full name(s) of proprietor(s) or managing director if a Limited Company/ Residential Address/ Age, country of birth, present nationality

Need for the Document

• All individuals, businesses, and enterprises that deal with tourism activities in Egypt are required to be registered by the ministry of interior and obtain the applicable Tourism Registration certificate/license.
• No person is allowed to undertake or engage in a tourism activity or service without a valid licence issued by the Authority.
