Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Get Licence or Permit for Zinc, the applicant has to apply for Ministry of Manpower and Immigration Contact link
2. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
3. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
4. An applicant should submit a signed application letter addressed to the Executive Secretary of the Commission.
5. Applicants should fill and submit one original application form signed by a Principal Officer.
6. Applicants should provide two (2) hard copies and a soft copy (if available) of the above exhibits as separate attachment, clearly labelled and all pages sequentially numbered.
7. The applicant shall provide the receipt confirming the payment of the Initial License fee after the Commission has communicated the Outcome of its Decision on an application to the applicant.
8. A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority request.
9. The submitted details will be verified by respective receiving authority. If all the details and documents are in place, application will be accepted.
10. Applicant will get a receipt as acknowledgement for the submission of application.
11. This application will be processed by the respective department.
12. Applicant gets notification about the issuance.
13. After getting the notification from concerned authorities, the applicant can visit the office to collect their license.
14. The processing time for this procedure takes 90 working days.

Instructions

• When a Base Metals (Zinc) License holder has identified a mineral deposit that he/she is interested in, he/she appoints an agent or an Approved Prospector to peg on his behalf.
• The agent is required to physically peg the area by marking the deposit with a Discovery Peg.

Need for the Document

• A Base Metals (Zinc) license gives the license holder the sole right to mine for specified minerals. The applicant needs to show identification of a mineral resource before applying for a Base Metals (Litter and Scrap, Molybdenum, Bars and Rods) license.
