Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Get Licence or Permit for Weapons and Ammunition, the applicant must register Ministry of Interior affairs link
2. The applicant should obtain the application form from the authority.
3. Applicant should read carefully in the application form, after all details must be filled in the application form.
4. Also, make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
5. Attach all the documents with the application letter and submit it to the Director of International Trade Administration.
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page. Please pay as authority’s advice at the time of applying.
7. After receiving the application and documents, the authorities will check the submitted document set.
8. Authorities will process this request either manually or digitally using the computer for electronic processing all the required documents will be scanned.
9. Authorities will issue an acknowledgement receipt for submission of application. Please collect it and please keep it safe for future reference.
10. This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
11. Once the verification of all the documents and application has been done, the applicant will be informed through phone or email to collect the final license within 60 days.
12. The processing time for this procedure is 2 months.

• Applicant’s Medical report
• 4 clear passport size photographs
• Attested copy of address proof: Voter Identity Card, Passport, Electricity/ Water/Telephone Bill, Driving License, Property (House) Tax, Tax Return, National identification Card
• Attested copy of date of birth: Police clearance Certificate, Birth certificate, Affidavit sworn before a Magistrate/Notary stating date and place of birth by illiterate or semi-illiterate applicants.

• All Foreigners and Resident of Egypt are Eligible.

Fees

• A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority request.

Validity

• Normally, permits are issued for three-year periods and are renewable for three-year periods.

Need for the Document

• Applicant must carry a valid license or authorization for carriage of Weapons and Ammunition. Weapons and Ammunition must be unloaded and packed separately from the ammunition. The screener will check to ensure it. Ammunition should not be carried in loose form and it should be in the proper package.
