Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Get License or Permit for Sugar and Confectionery, the applicant has to approach the Egypt Ministry of Health Contact link
2. Information related to the respective office and License authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
3. Application form should be obtained from the respective office.
4. The application should be addressed to the Trade Administration office in Egypt.
5. Also, make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
6. A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority's request.
7. Attach all the documents with the application letter and submit it to the Director of International Trade Administration.
8. After assessing the application and attached documents, International Trade Administration will initially issue an Approval-In-Principle.
9. Not later than six months after the grant of Trade Administration office, the promoters of a proposed bank will receive a formal notification instructing to submit an application for the grant of final license.
10. The application should also contain some of the documents in support for the grant of the final license, addressed to the International Trade Administration Department.
11. Once the verifications of all the documents and application has been done, the applicant will be informed through phone or email to collect the final license within one month.

Eligibility

• Persons intending to import sugar and its by-products, should register with the Egypt trade administration as specified in the regulations, and should apply for an Import license from the Board.
  

Fees

• A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority's request.

Validity

• The certificate is valid for a period of one year.

• The fee structure for the issuance of the license differs based on the nature of the business
• The failure to comply with pre-requisites of the trade license can also result in the closure of a business.

Need for the Document

• This license is a license issued by the Board to allow the holder to take or cause to be taken out of Egypt sugar and its by-products.
• The license is issued only for the specific consignment being imported and Exported.
