Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Get License or Permit for Cocoa and Cocoa Preparations in person, the applicant has to approach the Egypt Ministry of Health Contact Link
2. Information related to the respective office and License authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
3. Application form should be obtained from the respective office.
4. Applicant should read carefully in the application form, after all details must be filled in the application form.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
6. Also, make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
7. Now, complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with the signature once completed.
8. Once completed filling the application form, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office.
9. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
10. Pay the necessary application fees and licensing fees for obtaining a Cocoa and Cocoa Preparations License.
11. After submission, the application and other documents will be forwarded for examination and verification processes.
12. Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps to issue the permit.
13. When the document is ready to be collected, the applicant will receive a formal notification from the office and the applicant can collect it by any applicable means.
14. The time frame accumulatively for processing the application is usually thirty (30) days.

Eligibility

• Local importers who wish to import products regulated by the authority; the products include, Cocoa, Pimento, Turmeric, Ginger, Nutmeg, or Coconut.

Fees

• Application fee of EGP 600.00 (non-refundable)
• License fees $1,000 or its equivalent in EGP. (paid annually)

Validity

• The license is valid for one (01) year unless suspended, revoked, or cancelled by the Authority.
• The license expires on the 30th June of every year and should be renewed, not later than thirty (30) days of the current license. Late application shall attract a penalty fee.

Instructions

• No person should export dairy produce without a permit issued by the Board.
• A permit is required for each consignment exported.
• An permit shall not be issued unless the applicant obtains a veterinary approval that the milk items to be exported is fit and that it meets the health requirements of the importing country.
