Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Get Certificate of the Legal Status of the Factory in person, the applicant has to approach the General Authority For Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Contact link
2. Applicant has to get the letter head for the firm and should get required document as per our page.
3. Applicants should read carefully in the application form, after all details must be filled in the application form.
4. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
5. Documents that are needed for this procedure are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority request.
7. As the fees structure varies from state to state, licensing officer whom applicant applies with will provide fee details.
8. Submit the completed application (2 copies) along with required documents as mentioned in our required documents session.
9. After accepting the application, officials will advise the amount to be remitted as per the mode (treasury challan or as acceptable).
10. Applicant after remitting the mentioned amount should provide the proof of payment (receipt or challan) to the department authority for processing.
11. Applicant will get intimation for inspection of premises.
12. Concerned authorities will inspect the business place and do their due diligence for the machine / other apparatus as mentioned in application by applicant.
13. Once all the process yields satisfactory result, Applicant gets intimation to collect the certificate.
14. On the said date, applicant can collect the certificate with 1 month.

• Attested copy of Memorandum of article and association/Partnership deed/Affidavit regarding Sole proprietor
• List of present Directors in case of Limited/ Pvt. Limited Company (Name & complete office & Residential address)
• Power of attorney
• General affidavit by Competent person authorized by the resolution of the Firm /Partners / Proprietor himself along with photo and residential proof
• Affidavit of responsible person under nominated by resolution of the Firm / Partners / Proprietor himself along with photo and residential proof
• Map of the factory and proof of the ownership
• List of Lab, equipment's
• Qualification proof of lab chemist
• Land documents in Details (Where the manufacturing takes place).
• NOC from State Pollution Control Board.
• List of Tech Expert with their Qualification,
• First Aid facility (from the contact Doctor),
• ID proof
• An undertaking that applicant shall abide by the terms and conditions

Eligibility

• Any person desiring to manufacture can apply for this application.
• Before granting/renewing the license, inspection of the unit is carried out to know the manufacturing infrastructure in the factory premises and whether the applicants qualify to get the license as appropriate.

Fees

• A fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority request.

Validity

• A license granted under insecticides (Amendment) Act, shall be valid for the period specified therein, May be renewed from time to time for such period and on payment of such fee as may be prescribed.

Instructions

• The certificate can also be issued from the country of the factory.
• The commercial register of the factory will be sufficient, but it should be valid (not expired) and if any amendments happened regarding the name of the Factory/company the commercial register before and after such amendment shall be provided.
• However, some factories/companies have no commercial register in their countries; in this case, the article of the association will be accepted by GOEIC.
• It is crucial to note that both of the above documents shall be certified at the commercial chamber and the Egyptian consulate in the factory/company.
• Refer to the “Required Documents” section of this procedure to learn more about the required documents.
• The designated authority will review the submitted application.
• If the application is approved and meets all the requirements, the applicant shall receive the certificate within the stipulated processing period. The applicant must approach the above-mentioned address to collect the same.

Need for the Document

• This Certificate as a document of approval given by authorities to carry out manufacturing activities. The Department of Factories and Boilers issues Factory License. The Factories and Boilers Department must keep a check on workers' health, safety, and welfare.
• The factory license is an official document that entitles the factory the permission to operate, some factories that have no license according to domestic laws will need in this case to provide an official certificate to prove that.
