Egypt - Apply For Film and Posters Classification

Apply In-Person:
- To apply For Film and Posters Classification, the applicant can approach the Office of the Minister of State for Antiquities or Commercial and Event Permits Office Contact link.
- Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
- Read carefully through the application form as there contain different section.
- Applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
- The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
- Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the applicant form while submitting it at the office.
- Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
- Submit the payment receipt to the film licensing officer, for review of the Film Classification Certificate application.
- The licensing officer may, in his discretion, issue or refuse to issue the Film Classification Certificate .
- Upon successful review the licensing officer will issue the Film Classification Certificate.
- The processing time is within 15 minutes of receiving a complete application.
- Carry proof of identification when collecting the application.

EligibilityEdit
Any person / individual wishing to distribute, exhibit or broadcast any film or class of film which has not been classified and approved by the authority, is eligible to make the application.
FeesEdit
Film classification certificate fee is EGP.14,000.
ValidityEdit
The license is valid for one year.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- No film or class of film shall be distributed, exhibited or broadcast, either publicly or privately, unless the authority has examined it and issued a certificate of classification.
- It is illegal to distribute, exhibit or broadcast any film or class of film which has not been classified and approved by the authority.
