Procedure

How to apply

1. You should first visit the Peltier General Hospital (Ave. Marechal) office near you and undergo a medical test examination, pay the required test fee of 5000 DJF, and if you pass the medical test you will be issued with a medical certificate.
2. Then visit the prefecture office near you with the medical certificate and identification document and express your interest, you will then be required to pay 1000 DJF residence certificate and 1000 Tax stamp, upon which you will be issued with the receipts.
3. You will then be required to visit the Directorate of Mines and Road Safety office near you and express your interest at the service desk.
4. Fill out the application form, attach the supporting documents (listed below under "Required Documents") for verification and processing.
5. If the authorized official is satisfied that all the documents are in order you will be notified when you should re-visit the office to collect the driving permit.

Note : Applicant should possess a valid foreign driving licences of member country of the International Convention on Road Traffic in Geneva to be able to convert their foreign driver’s licence and obtain a Djibouti driving permit. (list of the Geneva International Convention on Road Traffic member countries)
