Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. The applicant will need a state permit for their vehicle as well as a commercial vehicle license.
2. Visit the nearest Regional transport authority, the applicant can find the nearest RTA by clicking on the link under the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page. Here is the contact Link
3. The applicant can collect the form from the concerned authorities' office. Here is the link to the Application form
4. The applicant will have to submit an application form and attach photocopies of the required documents; a list of documents can be found under the “Required Documents” section of this page
5. The applicant will have to pay fees, find fee-related information under the “Fees” section of this page.
6. The applicant’s lorry will be inspected to make sure it meets all safety standards.
7. Once the application has been approved, the applicant can collect the certificate from the RTO within a month from the submission of the application.

Fees

• The fee for the application form is Rs 100.
• The fee for a grant permit is Rs. 100.

Instructions

• The applicant does not need a permit if the gross vehicle weight does not exceed 3000 Kg.
