To apply for a change of address in vehicle registration certificate in Daman and Diu the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which your area belongs to.

Make sure you have completed application form 33. Application forms can be obtained from the following link : Application forms
Also make sure you have all the necessary documents to process the application
Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices
Present the completed application forms in one of the RTO counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.

Apply Online:

To change address for vehicles, the applicant has to visit the official portal of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways: Link to Portal
In the homepage, please scroll down to “Informational Services” and click on the “more” button in the “Citizen Guide” tab.
The applicant will be taken to the “Manual” page where all the available services will be listed.
Please click on the name of the required service and click on “Step by Step procedure” from the drop down menu.
The applicant will be taken to a new PDF page where the process for applying will be explained clearly.
Please follow the steps to complete the application.

Apply through Centres:

To obtain change in address for a vehicle in Daman & Diu, the applicant shall visit the nearest CSC/Tehsil Centre. Find contacts to CSC centres in the link provided:Link
Procure the mandatory application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for the amendment.
Make sure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
Make the requisite payment required for the process (if applicable).
Now, submit the application to the office of the concerned centre and obtain the acknowledgement slip.
After successful verification, the Permanent Driver License (Car, Bike, Motorcycle) will be issued by the concerned authority.
Obtain the license from the concerned CSC centre by showing the acknowledgement slip.

Insurance Certificate
Proof of address (any one of the following):
- Ration Card / Voter ID / LIC Policy / Passport size photo / Pay slip from Govt
Birth Certificate
Aadhaar card
Affidavit sworn by the applicant before an Executive or First Class Judicial Magistrate or Notary public.
No objection certificate from the Financier, if the vehicle with Hire Purchase
Valid Tax paid proof
Valid Pollution under Control Certificate

Owner of the vehicle can apply for change of address in the Registration Certificate.

ValidityEdit

The usual validity of the RC is unaffected for the change in address
In case of non-transport vehicles like two wheelers and cars, the registration certificate is valid for 15 years from the date of first registration, and it is renewed after every five subsequent years.
In case of transport vehicles like goods and passenger carriers the registration certificate is valid till certificate of fitness is valid.

Every owner of Motor Vehicle shall cause the Vehicle to be Registered by a Registering Authority in whose Jurisdiction he has residence or place of business where the vehicle is normally kept.

Need for the DocumentEdit

If a registered owner of a vehicle shifts his address as recorded in the Registration Certificate, he must apply for recording of the new address, after obtaining a N.O.C from the previous registering authority.
In cases where such change of address is from one state to another, then the registration number will have to be changed to a local registration number.
Vehicle registration's purpose is to establish clear ownership and to tax motorist or vehicle owners.
Change of address of the owner need to be carried out to intimate through his records (registration certificate) for the Authorities to communicate all grievances as and when required
Without change of address the owner may be unaware of the intimations from government officials.
Hence one needs to change the address in his RC
