Procedure

1. Go to any office of the Civil Registry and Identification.
2. Ask the officer for the elimination of background.
3. Provide appropriate documentation and information as the officer stated.

Required Documents

• identity card (valid and in good condition)
• a special power of attorney, specifying empowering the representative for the interested criminal record (if applied by a third party)

Note: All documents must be submitted in original or notarized copy or the competent authority, indicating that the documents are true to the original.

Eligibility

The applicant must demonstrate compliance with the conviction or the prescription of the penalty and, in the case of sanctions with a fine, full payment thereof.

Need for the Document

A person can request for a criminal omission if the final or enforceable conviction is granted to the interest of the alternative measures of prison terms referred to in Law No. 18.216, Article 29, such as: remission of sentence, imprisonment or probation night, in which case annotation is omitted record certificates to operate motor vehicles, for entry into the civil service, for private purposes and for special purposes.
