As a first step, get the FIR from the applicable police station for the lost or stolen permit. If you have the damaged piece of permit, then you can submit the same as proof.

  1. To apply for duplicate truck permit in Chandigarh the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to. Please follow our “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page to get details of the RTO offices.
  2. Make sure you have completed application form for duplicate truck permit. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that can be completed and presented with appropriate fees
  3. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
  4. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
  5. After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed. Important verifications for the permit includes Vehicle condition, body built etc., will be carried by authorities.

  • Private Service Vehicle Permit is valid for 5 years and issued for concerned region only.
  • Usually the renewal of permit can be obtained with Vehicle fitness certificate and FC as per authorities of concerned RTO

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • Private Service Vehicle Permits are issued to institutions that operate the vehicle for their own use.
  • Whenever such permit is lost or damaged or missing, then the Duplicate for the permit has to be applied
  • An application for a permit to use a motor vehicle as a private service vehicle shall contain the following particulars, namely:--
  • Type and seating capacity of the vehicle
  • The area or the route or routes to which the application relates
  • the manner in which it is claimed that the purpose of carrying persons

  • One needs to provide the declaration to use the vehicle only for faring employees or laborers of a Company/Firm/Institute to ferry them to the place of business or back.
  • Disproportionate asset case should not be pending against the vehicle for issue of permit.
