- To Obtain a Special Temporary Registration Certificate for Pesticides (RET), the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA) link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer or the applicant has to write a complaint letter A4 sheet.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Conduct or provide toxicological and environmental studies or assessments related to the pesticide. These studies typically include acute and chronic toxicity tests, residues analysis, and ecological evaluations to determine the safety and potential risks associated with pesticide use.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- The officer will evaluate the submitted application, including the technical data, toxicological and environmental studies, and safety profiles of the pesticide. They will assess the potential risks and benefits associated with the pesticide use.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- The officer may conduct inspections and tests to verify the compliance of the pesticide with applicable regulations, quality standards, and labeling requirements. They may also evaluate the efficacy of the pesticide in controlling the target pests.
- Based on the evaluation and analysis, the officer will review the application and decide on the Special Temporary Registration Certificate (RET). If approved, the officer will issue the certificate with the specified validity period.
- This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
