Apply In-Person

  1. Applicants should visit the National Environmental Laboratory Building (WNPC) office near you, for the request process {view address and contact details below}.
  2. Collect the NEL analysis request form 1 from the service desk or use this link to download Link
  3. Submit the completed form, along with a certified copy of your identification document to the National Environmental Laboratory, Department of Waste Management & Pollution Control Offices for assessment and processing.
  4. You will then be required to pay for the sampling fee which will depend on where the sample is to be collected. The price will be calculated per distance and the number of samples to be collected. I.e. The rate used are as per Government rates for Travel, on Sand, Tarred and Gravel roads which are: Sand P5.60/km; Gravel: 4.50/km; Tarred P2.55/km. Where hotel stay is required the rate will be as per the government subsistence allowance at a rate of P142.80/night.
  5. A technical team will then visit the location on which you had request for the analysis test to be done and collect the required samples, which will then be taken back to the WNPC Laboratory for testing and analysis.
  6. You will then be required to pay for the analysis cost as per sample collect and obtain an acknowledgment receipt.
  7. The result of the analysis will be ready for withdrawal by the applicant within 6 and 8 working days for Microbiology analysis and Chemical analysis respectively, against the applicant identification document and acknowledgment slip.
  8. The results are indicated in % of composition found, if you require the result to be explained to you, please request the laboratory technician to do so.

  • The service facilitates proper and accurate monitoring of pollution in the environment. The National Environmental Laboratory Building {WNPC} consistently monitors pollutants from waste-water treatment plants, industries, mines and rivers.
  • Testing of environmental pollutants is performed in various media including; groundwater, surface (river) water, wastewater, leachates, sludge, gases, airborne dust, sediment, and soil.
