Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. You should contact the immigration offices or Botswana embassy near you, for more information on how to file the application with them.
2. Accurately fill in the application form (Form 1 Application for Visa) which can be obtained from the above offices.
3. submit the completed form along with the required supporting documentation (as listed below) for verification and processing.
4. Check the outcome of your application from the office where the application was submitted after seven working days.
5. If approved you will be issued with the visa upon payment of the required fees.

Required Documents

• Certified copy of page 1 and 2 of passport showing validity period not less than six months
• Two recent coloured passport size photos
• Covering letter
• Flight itinerary and accommodation bookings or residential address in Botswana
• A re-entry permit to the country where the applicant is ordinarily resident if such a permit is required by that country
• Sworn statement by the host signed at the immigration’s office
• A certified copy of the host’s national identity, residence permit, work permit, exemption certificate, or naturalization certificate
• Intent to depart Botswana after your trip
• Financial proof of support

Eligibility

The visitor’s visa is issued to foreigners visiting Botswana for social reasons such as:

• Visiting friends or relatives.
• Obtaining medical treatment
• Participation in social events hosted by fraternal, social, or service organizations
• Participation by amateurs in musical, sports, or similar events or contests, if not being paid for participating
• Enrolment in a short recreational course of study, not for credit toward a degree (for example, a two-day cooking class while on vacation)

Fees

The cost associated with this service is BWP500.00 for a visa valid for up to three years, and BWP1000.00 for validity period beyond three years.

Validity

Validity of the is ether for 3 years or beyond the 3 years depending on your application preference.

Processing Time

It takes seven to fourteen days after the date of filling application with the immigration office or the Botswana consulate or embassy.
