Procedure

Apply In Person

1. The request for Vegetation Management Service (BPC) shall be made to the nearest Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) branch office. BPC Branches Contact details and Map Locations
2. The request letter and copies of the supporting documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page, should be submitted to the nearest BPC customer service office within the location where the service is needed. Any omission of the supporting documents will render the application process incomplete.
3. An appropriate fee is chargeable before services are rendered. Upon making payment at the customer care office, a payment slip is issued, which will also serve as proof of submission of the application.
4. Upon receipt of the application file, the customer care officer will verify if all the information and documentation are in order, before submitting the request to be accessed and processing by the BPC technical team.
5. After processing, applicants will be contacted by the BPC customer care office and given further instruction.
6. Customers should then engage private vegetation management companies to assist with cutting down trees while BPC will be responsible for the safe isolations of supply to the area to avoid danger to any working party where it is necessary.

1. Visit the Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) website then select, “Customer Service” option located on the menu bar, then select “Technical Services” on the dropbox and then select “Vegetation Management on BPC Infrastructure” on the extended menu.
2. You will be redirected to the Vegetation Management on BPC Infrastructure Online Request Page.
3. Accurately fill out the request form and upload the supporting documentation as listed on the site. All fields with a red asterisk are mandatory and should be filled, any omission of such information and documentation will render the application process incomplete and submission of the request will not be possible.
4. Please ensure that all the information and documents uploaded are in order, before clicking on the “Submit” button.
5. Upon receipt of the application file, the BPC technical officer will verify if all the information and documentation have been provided, before accessing and processing the request.

Need for the Document

• Vegetation Management Service is meant to assist customers who have trees in their properties that have grown into the BPC overhead line, such trees cause safety hazards once they touch conductors as they can allow for tracking of electricity to the ground and also cause disruption of supply to a wider area as they short circuit the lines.
