Botswana - Obtain Practicing Certificate for Quantity Surveyor

- The application for Practicing Certificate for Quantity Surveyor shall be made to the Quantity Surveyors’ Registration Council (QSRC) office, whose mandate is to ensure the highest standards of Quantity surveying practice in Botswana and protect the welfare and interest of the public in the survey practice, surveying work in Botswana is done for the public good. - Applicants are required to collect and complete the Application Form practicing-certificate, obtainable at the ERB office or download it via the ERB website ERB Application Forms, or download it directly using this link, QSRC Application Form practicing-certificate
- Submit the supporting documentation as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page, in addition to the duly completed application form in all respect to the QSRC registrar's office. Any omission of these documents will render the registration process incomplete.
- Pay the applicable fees, either by depositing into the QSRC account. Alternatively, you can pay by cheque written in favor of the Engineers Registration Board. No cash is handled at the QSRC office and as such, you should not give anybody any money for them to assist you. - Upon receipt of the application file, the registrar will verify if all the necessary information and documentation has been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria before registering the application file for assessment and consideration by the Council.
- Applicants will be issued with a QSRC payment receipt and an acknowledgment slip as proof of submission of the application and for inquiry referencing if the need arises.
- The Council may, where satisfied that the applicant meets the requirements, direct the Registrar to issue a practicing certificate to a professional quantity surveyor.
- Applicants are notified in writing about Board resolutions, regarding their applications.
- If approved, the practicing certificate shall be issued to the applicant, upon presenting their identity document, QSRC payment slip, and approved a letter to be validated by the registrar's office at the QSRC.
- A practicing certificate issued shall specify the address of the principal place of practice and all other places of the practice of the professional quantity surveyor to whom the practicing certificate is issued.

- A Declaration in writing, stating
- The name of the applicant.
- The applicant principal’s principal address or any address at which he practices in Botswana
- Proof of payment of the applicable fee.

The accepted method of payment is direct deposits into the QSRC bank account,
- No cash will be accepted at QSRC Offices. Cheques sent to QSRC by post will also not be accepted. QSRC will take no responsibility for cheques lost in the post or intercepted and fraudulently banked in another party’s bank account.
- When payments are made at the Bank, an applicant must quote their Omang Number (Citizens) or Passport Number (Non-Citizens).

ValidityEdit
- A practicing certificate shall be valid for a period of 12 months from the date of issue unless suspended, canceled, or revoked by the council.
- Upon expiry, the certificate is subjected to renewal.
