How to Apply
Apply In-Person

1. Within 30 days of receiving the rejection letter, applicants should visit the nearest Regional/District Department of Labour and Social Security office to file the appeal for the work permit, {see address/contact information below}.
2. Pay the processing fee at the regional labour office cash counter/office, submit the payment receipt, attached to the letter of appeal and the supporting documents to be verified by the labour department attending officer and obtain an acknowledgment slip.
3. The regional labour office will then forward the application file to the Ministry of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development, Department of Labour and Social Security headquarter office for processing.
4. Upon receipt of the application file, the ministry office will register the appeal, as to when the file was received.
5. The file will then be vetted and assess by a committee formed by the ministry of labour and send its recommendation to the minister for final decision making.
6. If the appeal is approved by the minister, the ministry of labour headquarter office will inform the regional labour office of the decision, whom will then draw up the work permit, to be issued to the applicant against his/her passport, acknowledgment slip and upon payment of the required work permit fee.
7. If the appeal is not approved a rejected letter will be issued to the applicant at the regional labour office.

Need for the Document

• Foreigners whose application for a work permit has being rejected by the Regional Immigration Selection Boards (RISB) may appeal to the Minister of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development within thirty (30) days of the rejection. The minister decision is final.
