Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. The request for validating or confirming the authenticity of education certificates in Botswana is done by making an Application for Statement of Examination Result to the Botswana Examinations Council BEC Contact Details
2. The applicant shall file the request in such a manner as determined by the BEC, and it shall be accompanied by all the supporting documentation and prescribed fee (if applicable) as requested by the BEC office.
3. The completed request file should be submitted to the BEC office for consideration.
4. Upon submission, the application is checked for completeness and correctness by a BEC officer, before it is registered for processing and consideration.
5. The applicant will obtain an acknowledgment slip as proof of submission of the application, and for inquiry referencing if the need arises.
6. After the successful screening of the submitted documents, the statement is drawn up and made available for issue to the applicant.
7. Statements are normally dispatched through registered mail at no extra cost. However, those wishing to use courier services will be charged according to the distance of the destination. Clients are accepted to meet the extra cost.
   

Apply Online

1. Applicants should visit the BEC Website, locate and click on the “Results” option on the menu bar, on the dropbox option click on the “My Result” option. Note, there is no need to register or have an account with the BEC to access this service.
2. This will navigate the applicant to the Result Platform page.
3. The applicant should fill out all fields accurately; (Indicate examination/Indicate Year/Enter Center number/Enter Candidate number/Enter Candidate surname).
4. Then click the "show results" button.
5. A summary of the result requested will be displayed on the screen.

Please Note: Only a summary of examination results dating as far back as 2009 can be requested via the BEC Result Platform, beyond that; the request should be filed in person.
