Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. One should visit the nearest police station for consultation station countrywide and obtain the application form or click the link below to download (resident)&(non-resident)
2. Accurately fill in the application form and attach copies of the require documents.
3. Applications is then to be submitted to a licensing officer of the district in which the applicant carries on business or normally residences for verification and processing.
4. If the licencing officer is satisfied that you have complied with the all conditions as set for the application of the permit, he or she will issue you with the permit

Eligibility

• Citizens and foreigners of 18 years and above

Fees

• The service is currently P100-00.
• The Act is under review to have the nominal fee increased

Validity

• Permit for resident is valid for 1 year
• Temporary permit for non-resident is valid for 30 days from date of entry

Instructions

• No person shall import any arms or ammunition except under and in accordance with an import permit in accordance with Act Cap 24:01
• Arms or ammunition for the purpose of sale shall be imported only under the authority of an arms dealer's import permit.
