Apply In Person

  1. The application for Evaluation of Qualifications shall be made to the Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA), whose mandate is to maintain a National Credit and Qualifications Framework (NCQF) and to coordinate a quality assurance system for education, training, and skills development.   2. Prospective applicants are required to collect and complete the Application form for Evaluation of Qualifications, obtainable at the Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) office receptionist desk or download it via the BQA website, BQA Document Library
  3. The duly completed application form attached to the supporting documentation as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page should be submitted to the BQA office. Any omission of the required documents or information will render the registration process incomplete.
  4. Upon submission, the application is checked for completeness and correctness by the Evaluation of Qualifications Officers, if everything is in order the applicant will be issued a Pro-forma invoice which will guide the applicant on the fees required, hence the applicant should not proceed to pay before receiving a Pro-forma invoice.
  5. The application will only be registered to be processed when payment has been made, the applicant will be issued with a BQA payment slip and an acknowledgment slip that proves submission of the application file and for inquiry referencing if the need arises.
  6. Upon receipt of the application file, the BQA evaluation desk will evaluate the application in two stages i.e.,
    • 1st stage is Verification: a process of authenticating the status of awarding body and/or Education and Training Provider and the qualifications offered by them, along with investigating the authenticity of qualifications documentation and verifying that the qualification was awarded an individual.
    • 2nd stage is Comparability: a process that entails comparing external qualifications with NCQF qualifications, considering the structure and outcomes, and locating them within the NCQF.
  7. The BQA may request additional information relevant to the application. In such a case, the information must be submitted within 21 working days from the date of notification. Where the applicant fails to submit the required information, the Authority shall reject the application.
  8. After completion of the evaluation process, the evaluation result will draw up and certified by a BQA authorized official to be issued to the client in person at the BQA office against their identity document / or a printout will be mailed to the client as per the applicant preference.


Apply Online

  1. Prospective applicants can submit the application for Evaluation of Qualifications via the Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) website, Online Submission
  2. First, download the following documents via the BQA website (links below), the Application form for Evaluation of Qualifications and fill it accurately, prepare all the supporting documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page, All Documents' format types should be in pdf, the maximum file size for each document upload is 30MB and should be labeled correctly for identification. For Example ID_ Name BQA Document Library.
  3. If you already have an account, log in to access the service, if you do not have an account click on the “Register” option. Fill out all the fields in the registration form then click on the “Register” button.
  4. Upon successful registering, a registration confirmation request mail will be sent to the specified registered e-mail address, click on the user verification & activation link, you will be redirected to the login page, enter your user name and password then click on the “Login” tab.
  5. The application forms page will be displayed, click on the, select and click on the “Individual Form” tab for individual forms, or “Company Form” for Companies application forms.
  6. The Evaluation of Qualification, online submission form will be displayed, read the instruction part carefully, fill out all mandatory fields in each section before click on the “Next” button.
  7. Attach all supporting documents as listed on the site, then click on the “Next” button.
  8. The Completion page of the application will be displayed, select the service category you are applying for. If the wrong service is selected, your application will not be processed. If you agree to the Terms & Condition then click on the “I Accept” button, then click on the “Submit” tab.
  9. The payment page will be displayed, make the necessary payment to complete the application process. Please do not forget to log out of your account.
  10. The applicant will then receive an acknowledgment mail, notifying you that your application has been received for processing and consideration and for inquiry referencing if the need arises.

The BQA reserves the right to share information about you with appropriate institutions for prosecution in the event that documents submitted are forged, altered or falsified.

Required DocumentsEdit

  • An application form, fully completed and legible
  • Legible and certified true copies of the qualification certificate to be evaluated or an official statement/letter of award (issued by the awarding body) confirming completion of all the requirements for the award of the qualification.
  • Certified copy of the transcript/ academic record.
  • Degree/ Diploma Supplement (if applicable).
  • Certified copy of qualification certificate and transcript of qualification preceding the one to be evaluated.
  • Certified identity document; National Identity (Omang) or birth certificate for children under the age of 16 for citizens or passport for non-citizens.
  • Marriage certificate or evidence of change of name (if applicable).
  • A full and accurate official translation into English certified by an official of the issuing translation service if documents are not in
  • English.
  • Signed Declaration and consent by the applicant
  • Proof of payment
