Apply In-Person

  1. You should contact the Botswana Government Communication & Information System (BGCIS) office for more information on how to file the application.
  2. Accurately fill in the application form, which can be obtained from the above offices or click the link below to download: Application Form
  3. Submit the completed application form along with the relevant supporting documents including an official letter of request from the assigning newspaper/magazine, television/radio station or News Agency to the BGCIS using the contact information provided below. This letter should:
    1. Confirm that the journalist/photographer is on an assignment for the news agency/newspaper/station;
    2. State the event or topic the journalist/photographer is covering
    3. Provide the time frame required for coverage
    4. Provide a copy of the press card or other form of identification that confirms that the journalist is employed by the specific media house
  4. Your application will then be verified and processed and you will contact BGCIS officer on the progress concerning your application request status.
  5. Upon approval to your request you will be notified.
