Procedure

Apply online through Digilocker

1. User shall use the following Link
2. In the given page, please click on the “Login / Register” button provided on the top right corner of the screen to reach the “Login or Create Account” page.
3. Enter your registered mobile number at the prompts as applicable and click on the “Continue” button to reach the “Verify OTP” screen.
4. Please enter the OTP at the prompt as appropriate to complete the OTP authentication process and click on the “Verify” button.
5. On successful verification, the dashboard page will be provided.
6. The page will display documents already issued under the “Your issued documents” section.
7. Please select the Marriage certificate document type if issued already and it is listed to reach the corresponding page.
8. Please follow the page prompts as appropriate and follow the page requisite to download the marriage certificate.
9. If not displayed under the “Your issued documents” section, then click on the “Drive” option to reach the drive page with used space information.
10. Ih the citizen already saved his or her document in the drive, please browse through the page for the document type to download.
11. If not saved in Disk, then click on the “Search” or “Search Documents” option or enter the certificate type in the “Search for documents” prompt and click on the search icon.
12. In the resulting page, please look for the “States” section and click your respective state as applicable.
13. In the given state centric page, please click on the certificate type as applicable.
14. The resulting page will display the certificate or the system will prompt the user to enter required details. #Please follow the page prompts as appropriate and follow the page requisite to download the certificate.

Apply Online

1. To Download or View Marriage Certificate, the applicant has to use the following link
2. The applicant has to click the “Register Your Marriage”.
3. From the redirected page, the applicant has to click the “Click Here to Apply Online”.
4. The applicant has to enter all the necessary details in the user registration.
5. Once completed with all the details click the “Register” button.
6. The applicant has to select the “Download marriage Certificate” from the following list.
7. The applicant needs to enter all the required details in the given form and click the “Submit” button.
8. The applicant has to view the details.
9. Also, click the “Download” button to download the certificate.
10. No necessary documents to upload for this certificate.
11. The fee for Downloading or Viewing the Marriage Certificate is free of cost.
12. The processing time for this download certificate is complete within a minute.

Apply In-Person

1. The applicant shall visit the respective Municipal office or at the office where the marriage was already registered.

3. In the given page, please select the respective state as applicable to reach the respective state districts page. Please check and scroll down for the “Districts” section. Please click on the “View All” option to reach the districts page. Here click on the applicable district to reach the official district page.
4. Here click on the menu and sub option as “DIRECTORY / PUBLIC UTILITIES / Municipalities” to reach a page with required contact information for locating the respective authorities office. Also Please look for other menu and sub options as “ABOUT DISTRICT / Who’s Who”
5. To get the respective SRO office details, the applicant shall use the following link
6. In the given page, please click on the menu icon provided on the top right corner and select the “Phone Directory” option.
7. A “Phone Directory(List of Officers)” pahe will be provided.
8. Scroll down and under the “List of Officers Posted in District or Sub Registry Offices:” section, the contact details are provided.
9. The applicant shall use the contact information to find the appropriate Sub-Registrar office.
10. Go to the office, Speak to the counter staff about the requirement.
11. The staff will provide the details to apply and the exact office or section to process.
12. If the process can be completed in the sub registrar office, then meet the operator at the designated counter.
13. If the application should be made at a different office, please visit the respective office as advised to apply.
14. Once you arrive at the counter, ask the counter staff to issue the application form or write on a sheet of A4 white paper.
15. The applicant shall submit the application and provide the required details as demanded for the process.
16. Once the details are provided, remit necessary payment if any as appropriate.
17. The authorities will make entries about the request and provide the acknowledgement for the application submitted.
18. Please keep the acknowledgement provided for future reference.
19. The physical certified copy of marriage certificate will be issued as advised.
20. In most of the centres, the operator will process the request using the computer to give the printout then and there as per the timeline they mention.
