Procedure

How to Apply:

1. Gather and prepare all the required documents for the application
2. Obtain the Application form from the Immigration department or download it via this link: Files
3. Read the form carefully as it comprises of different sections and forms.
4. Complete the application form and confirm that you have all the required documents as mentioned in Section 5 of the form.
5. If the work permit falls within a job category where a statutory council must be consulted, print the Referral to Statutory Council Form in Section 7 and have it filled and the medical clearance form in Section 8
6. Pay the application fees and attach the receipt to the application form.
7. Write an application letter addressed to the Department of Immigration justifying your request and attach the application form alongside the required documents.
8. The ministry will verify your application and upon satisfactory results they will grant you the permit.
   

NOTE: The Company must demonstrate that the Global Work Permit holder is not being transferred to fill a pre-existing position in Bermuda.

• Additional information/supplementary sheet that includes company information and employer details, along with details on efforts made to hire local resources
• New companies must also provide a certificate of incorporation and company profile.

Eligibility

• Global Employers i.e. only employer companies in Bermuda that employs people in jurisdiction outside Bermuda

Fees

• One Year Global Work permit: $ 1775
• Two Years Global Work Permit: $ 3150
• Three years Global Wok permit: $ 4300
• Four Years Global Work Permit: $ 5445
• Five Years Global Work Permit: $ 6765

Validity

• A Global Work Permit can be issued with a validity period of 1 up to 5 years.

Instructions

• The Global Work Permit can be issued for a period of one to five years depending on your application provide that the Permit is not applicable to positions listed in the closed or restricted categories
• If the Global Work Permit holder falls within a job category where a statutory council must be consulted, that must be done as well.
• If the employer wishes for the holder of a Global Work Permit to stay beyond the expiry of their Global Work Permit, the employer must apply for a Standard Work Permit.

Need for the Document

• A Global Work Permit allows a person who is already employed by a global company in another jurisdiction to transfer to the Bermuda office without the requirement to advertise the position.
