How to apply:
In Benin application

  1. Contact the Directorate of Emigration and Immigration offices near you for more information.
  2. Visit the immigration office and express your interest at the service desk, you will then be issued with an application form.
  3. Submit the completed form and the supporting documents (listed below) to the attending official for verification and processing.
  4. Pay the application fees you will then be issued a with a receipt/acknowledgement slip and you will be notified when you should re-visit the office to collect the certificate.



Abroad Application:

  1. Visit the Benin embassy or consulate near you with all the required documents (listed below) and obtain the application form or download the form from the embassy website if available.
  2. Submit the completed form and the supporting documents (listed below) to the attending official for verification and processing.
  3. Pay the application fees but in same embassy/consulate the payment can be done online (please consult with the embassy first)
  4. You will then be issued a with a receipt/acknowledgement slip and you will be notified when you should re-visit the office to collect the certificate.
  5. In some embassy they offer postage services and the certificate will be sent to you thus you will be required to provide an envelope with sufficient postage so that we can send back your file in sealed conditions with acknowledgement of receipt.

  • official marriage certificate copy.
  • Identification document (passport or ID card)
  • long term residency permit
  • Receipt for proof of payment of the application fees.

InstructionsEdit

Kindly ensure photos attached on passport application forms are as follows:

  • Recent and Clear photos – they should not be blurred nor have a dark hue; all facial features should be clearly outlined.
  • Photos with full face and both ears showing.
  • Photos taken against a white background.
  • The size of the face should be 3.5cm x 4.5cm.
  • Weaves and hair should not cover the forehead or the rest of the face.
  • Decent photos- ladies should not be wearing strappy or strapless tops.
  • Attach 4 photos.
  • Photos should be without shadows in the background.
  • Photos should be taken without spectacles.
  • Optical lenses should not be worn unless you can show us a medical certificate
