Belize - Apply for Hotel License
ProcedureEdit
- To apply for a hotel license, applicants will need to submit application to the Office of the Registrar of Hotels & Tourist Accommodation.
- A link to the application form is provided under 'Documents to Use' section. Download and complete the form.
- Submit the completed application together with all other required documents (see list below).
- Pay the $25.00 non-refundable application fee and a license fee of $5.00 for each bedroom or unit.

- Ownership Land Certificate Conveyance or other
- Business Name Certificate of Registration
- Central Building Authority CBA Occupancy Certification
- DOE - Department of Environment - Environmental Compliance Plan
- Fire Department No Objection Report
- Public Health Standards Inspection
- Food Establishment Certification (if the property has a restaurant) (At the time of construction)
- Food Handlers Certification (if the property has a restaurant) (At the time of construction)
- Trade License Certificate - Town Board
- Liquor License (if the property sells alcohol)
- Public Liability Insurance Coverage
- Emergency Preparedness Plan
- Social Security Board Registration Record (at time of construction)
- Owners Passport Particulars
- Residency or Work Permit for Foreigners
- Original letter of Appointment & Authorization for the Manager
- The Management Entitys Rental Agreement (if necessary)
- Declaration of Service Charge Scheme
- Few Pictures of the overall facilities
- (If applicant is a Company) Certificate of Incorporation, Memorandum & Articles of Association, and Annual Allotment of Shares/Return
- Ministry of Economic Development (Gaming License for Casino, if the property has a Casino)

Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit
The Licensing of accommodations insures that the said property has been certified to operate under the Laws of Belize.
The accommodation must meet tourism industry quality standards and meet the requirements set forth in the Hotels And Tourist Accommodation Act, Chapter 285 of the Laws of Belize Revised Edition 2011 and the Hotels And Tourist Accommodation Act, Chapter 285S Of The Laws Of Belize Revised Edition 2003.
