Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To Obtain a Permit or License to Publish Magazines in Bangladesh, the applicant has to approach the Press Institute of Bangladesh link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
6. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee for the application form as requested by the authority.
7. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
8. The concerned PIB officer will review the application and send it to the Ministry of Information for final approval.
9. Once the application gets approved the applicant will get a call from the concerned officer.
10. The applicant will receive the license for publication of the Magazine.
11. This entire process can be completed within 30-40 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a Bangladeshi citizen or a registered company in Bangladesh.
• The applicant must have a bank statement showing the financial capacity to publish the magazine
• The applicant must not have any criminal record or history of publishing objectionable content.
• The magazine must not contain any material that is against the culture, religion, or social norms of Bangladesh.

• The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
