Bahamas - Obtain CITES Import and Export Permit or License

Apply In-Person
- The Applicant has to submit an application to the Department of Agriculture. Please visit the following for Address Details Link
- The Applicant can download the Form from the following Form Link.
- Complete the application form with all details.
- After filling in all the details submit the Application Form along with the supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section to the Department of Agriculture along with the corresponding Fee.
- The Documents received by The Department of Agriculture will be forwarded to the Department of Marine Resources for processing, who will grant permission for issuing license.
- Once approved, the applicant will be informed through the proper communication channel.
- The applicant should then visit the office to collect the permit.

- A valid business license
- For exports: Shipment must be accompanied by a CITES export permit and a Phyto-sanitary certificate from The Bahamas.
- For imports: Shipment must be accompanied by CITES export permit and Phyto-sanitary Certificate from country of export and a CITES Permit from The Bahamas.

A CITES permit can be obtained by a person, who is in legal possession / ownership of a species or specimen, he wishes to trade.
