Apply In-Person
- The Captain has to submit an application to the Customers Officer at the point of arrival at your port of entry in The Bahamas.
- Visit the following Details Contact Link.
- The Applicant can download the Form from the following Form Link.
- Complete the application forms with all details.
- After filling in all the details submit the Application Forms along with the supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section to the Customers Officer at the point of arrival at your port of entry in The Bahamas, along with the corresponding Fee.
- Applicant will receive a copy of the completed form, which will serve as your Cruising Permit, once the form has been processed.
Apply Online
- Click on the following link for Online process: Online Link.
- On the left side of the login page, click on the “+Create Account” tab.
- The page will redirect the applicant to a customer Profile page.
- Complete the form with personal information and click on the “Create Profile” tab at the end of the page.
- The account will be created.
- Go to Login Page, enter Date of birth, Customer Last name and Passport number and click on the “ Continue to Submit” Tab.
- The Applicant can now fill the forms and make fee payment online with a credit card.
- The completed form can be downloaded online.
- The completed form must be presented at the point of entry to the Customs Officer in The Bahamas.
- The processed form will be given to the applicant / Captain and will serve as the Cruising Permit.

EligibilityEdit
Sailing pleasure vessels were only used for pleasure and enjoyment by captains.
FeesEdit
There are customs charges based on the size of the pleasure vessel.
- Up to 35 ft. in length - BS$150.00
- Over 35 ft. in length - BS$300.00
In addition, there is a BS$20.00 per head passenger tax with the first 3 crew / passengers exempt.
ValidityEdit
Within 24 hours of entering Bahamian waters, this procedure must be performed. Passengers and staff are not allowed to disembark until the process is finished.
