- The process of buying is buyer specific in the sense that it is decided by the nationality of the prospective buyer. If the buyer is a foreign citizen then he or she must obtain a Non-Citizen Land Holding License in order to buy property. This costs five percent of the value of the property that you wish to buy and there is a waiting period of between three to six months to obtain approval for purchasing the license. Besides this, the license is specific only to the property that you want to purchase.
- In order to purchase a property in Antigua and Barbuda, one must retain a solicitor to apply to the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands on your behalf for an Alien Land Holding License, which has to be approved by the cabinet.

FeesEdit
Official costs that you must consider:
- 2.5% Stamp Duty.
- Legal fees of between 1-2% of the property value and when the property is sold again, you have to pay a tax (Stamp Duty) of 7.5%.
- Real Estate Agents Commission of between 5% - 7%.
- A 10% duty is imposed on the cost of property purchased by non-nationals.
