OthersEdit

Only recently have some hospitals in major cities started to provide birth records. Each hospital will issue a different type of birth certificate. If a birth certificate is not obtained immediately after a child's birth, they are difficult to acquire later on. It is not unusual for the child's mother not to be listed. Usually only the father is listed. The process of issuing birth certificates has not yet been standardized across Afghanistan.
